Jingles Lost Her Jingle is a tool for parents, therapists and safe grown-ups who want to help their little princess heal after being molested. Jingles’ story is a typical example of abuse, and illustrates the lies an abuser uses to manipulate his/her victims. The ‘Lie Chapters’ follow, and with Princess Gracie’s guidance, your little princess will review the story in search for clues that will uncover the lies Jingles believes. She will discover the truth that will destroy the Lie Monsters, allowing Jingles to find her jingle once again. This book will give hope and instruction that will encourage and strengthen your Princess in her recovery process.

There is tremendous power in knowing that the abuse you endured is not your fault. Tammy has written an amazing book that teaches children this very important lesson by creatively using Lie Monsters and the Sword of Truth as tangible tools, allowing children to understand the abstract concepts of shame and guilt, and teaching them how to free themselves from these emotional burdens. This book discusses difficult topics, such as feeling dirty, in a non-graphic way, and clearly describes and gives voice to the confusion children feel when abused by caretakers, who are supposed to love and protect them, and untangles this confusion through easy to understand examples. This book is also about hope, in not only describing a path of healing, but also in letting the child know that she is not alone. I would recommend this book for use by therapists in stages for children in the 8 to 12-year range. For younger children, therapists can use the colorful pictures as a way to approach the subject of abuse. The appendices also provide very helpful information for parents in how to talk to their children about suspected abuse.

I read the children’s book for girls and pondered over it a long
time. I cried a lot and let myself release some of the pain from my past.
I know it helped bring me some healing!
